Summer Road Trip!

Day 8

Genesis 1:24, 25 God said, “Let the land produce every kind of living creature. Let there be livestock, and creatures that move along the ground, and wild animals.” And that’s exactly what happened. God made every kind of wild animal. He made every kind of livestock. He made every kind of creature that moves along the ground. And God saw that it was good.

Dear Journal,

I was in dinosaur heaven today! This is the part of the trip that I have been waiting for – the dinosaur museum. I have been studying about dinosaurs since I was 5 years old.

Some scientists believe that there are hundreds of different species of dinosaur. Most of them are the size of a human or smaller. Some are giants! Those are the ones I like to study. The T. Rex was about 20 feet tall. At the museum there was a display of the actual fossils of T. Rex hips, legs, feet and tail that had been found locally. The rest of the T. Rex had been cast (made with plaster) based on other T. Rex fossils that had been found in other parts of the world.

God was sure using his imagination when he created the dinosaurs! Dinosaurs were land animals and were created along with all the other land animals on day 6 of creation. Genesis 1:24, 25 tells us that God created all the animals on this day.

God said, “Let the land produce every kind of living creature. Let there be livestock, and creatures that move along the ground, and wild animals.” And that’s exactly what happened. God made every kind of wild animal. He made every kind of livestock. He made every kind of creature that moves along the ground. And God saw that it was good.

Scientists are still working to try and find out what happened to the dinosaurs. They have many different theories. I think a good starting point is to look at what the Bible has to say! The first thing we know is that God did create the dinosaurs!

I can’t wait until tomorrow! Tomorrow we are going on a fossil hunt on the museum grounds.
