Summer Road Trip!

Day 3

daily devotional for kids

1 Timothy 4:12 Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young. Set an example for the believers in what you say and in how you live.

Dear Journal,

We went to a Fun Park today on our road trip. There were all sorts of games like Whack-A-Mole and shooting targets with water pistols, and rides like the Ferris Wheel, Giant Swings and the Water Log Ride. We spent the whole day there and went on every ride – more than once!

Mom did not like the Water Log Ride. This ride was like a roller coaster in water. We sat in cars that looked like logs floating in water. At one part we climbed a huge hill. Once at the top the log would pause for a moment then drop down a steep hill. At the bottom the log would then zig zag at high speed through a dark tunnel. Mom screamed so loud when the log dropped that she scared Milo and made her cry!

Later we wanted to do the ride again, but Mom didn’t want to. She was scared. I encouraged her that it would be okay and that she didn’t need to be afraid. I told her God was with us and he would help her be brave. Mom went on the ride a second time and this time she had fun.

See, just because I am young doesn’t mean that I can’t be helpful, right? Read 1 Timothy 4:12.

Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young. Set an example for the believers in what you say and in how you live.

It doesn’t matter how old you are. You can always do what the Bible says and speak the truth and be a good example – even to people that are older than you!

Good thing it was a hot day out. We all got soaking wet on that Log Ride!
