Summer Road Trip!

Day 6

daily devotional for kids

Ephesians 6:11 Put on all of God’s armor. Then you can remain strong against the devil’s evil plans.

Today we spent the day swimming at the beach. Actually, we spent more time on the lake shore than in the water. That mountain water is c-c-c-cold! I spent most of the afternoon collecting clam shells, snail shells and crayfish. Crayfish are like mini-lobsters.

I think it is really cool that these creatures have built in homes. These animals have soft bodies and are very vulnerable to attack from birds and fish. So, God designed them to have hard shells for their protection. God thought of everything!

God knew we would need protection too! Not protection from giant birds or fish though. He knew we would need another kind of protection. The devil wants to tempt us to sin. He knows that sin will hurt us. God gave us protection against the devil’s schemes. Read Ephesians 6:11.

Put on all of God’s armor. Then you can remain strong against the devil’s evil plans.

God gave us armor. Not a hard shell like the snails or clams though. He gave us a spiritual armor. If you read further in Ephesians 6, you will see that the Bible calls things like God’s truth, our faith and the Holy Spirit, God’s armor. We have these things to help us stay strong when the devil tempts us so we can say “no” to sin and do what is right!

It is really cool how God takes care of even the smallest of creatures. I think it is pretty cool that we have own our set of armor too!
