Matthew 7:24 Everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on a rock.

I told her, but she wouldn’t listen, as usual. Milo built one of her famous tall towers out of connecting blocks. She built it narrow from the bottom up, and tall. This one was even taller than me. She used a chair to place the blocks at the top.

​

The tower was fine as long as everything was calm around it. But then Posey came in from outside. She ran over to see what Milo was doing. With one swish of her tail the whole tower came crashing down! Don’t get me wrong. I felt Milo’s pain. I would have been mad too. But, I did tell Milo that her tower needed a better foundation. She needed to build a wide and strong base to support that kind of height.

 

Today, I read a cool Bible verse in Matthew 7:24. Jesus told his disciples this story to get the point across that they too needed a good foundation in life. He said there were two men who each built a house. One built his house on a solid foundation of rock and the other built his house on a weak foundation of sand. A storm came and beat against both their houses. The house built on the rock survived while the house built on the sand fell with a great crash!

Jesus said that whoever listens to his words and does what he says to do is wise like the one who built his house on the rock. Hard times come to everyone. When we do what Jesus says, we won’t lose out on the good things that God has for us in life, including heaven! Well, I think I will show Milo how to build a good foundation for her tower. After all, someone has to teach her!
