FORGIVE
Matthew 18:21-22 Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?”
Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven. NKJV
Milo was mad at her friend Zach. They were playing tag at lunch break. Instead of just tagging Milo, he pushed her right down. He didn’t mean to hurt Milo. He just got carried away. He had told Milo that he was sorry. But Milo was still mad.
When Milo got home from school, her mom saw that Milo was in a grouchy mood so her mom asked what had happened. Milo told her what had happened at school with Zach. “It’s not the first time he has pushed me down. He just makes me so mad!” Milo exclaimed.
“Let me ask you this question,” Milo’s mom started, “how do you feel right now?”
“Not good!” said Milo.
“When someone does something wrong to us, the Bible says that we should FORGIVE them,” her mom continued. “Let’s read a verse in the Bible from Matthew 18:21-22.”
“Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?”
Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.”
“When we FORGIVE someone, we let go of the wrong thing they have done. We don’t think about it over and over again. That only makes us mad. It hurts us. I think that is why you are not feeling very good right now.” Milo’s mom said. “Sometimes it is hard to forgive someone, especially if they have hurt you before. FORGIVENESS is the right thing to do though and God will help you do it!”
Milo and her mom prayed that God would help Milo to FORGIVE Zach. Milo felt better. Then they invited Zach over to play!
