God is like our shadow!
Matthew 1:23 The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel (which means “God with us”).
I like to play a game with my friends where we chase each other and try to jump on each other’s shadows. It’s lots of fun! The one thing I have noticed when playing this game is that it is impossible to out run your own shadow! No matter where you go, or how fast you run, your shadow is always there!
God is like that. The Bible says in Matthew 1:23 - The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel (which means “God with us”).
That verse is talking about Jesus! One of the names that he was given meant “God with us.” I’m no genius here, but I think the message God was trying to get across to us is pretty obvious. God loves us and he wants to be with us. That is why he sent Jesus! Next time you look at your shadow, remember that God is also with you!
Try this: The next time you are with some friends play a game of “shadow tag” where you have to touch a players shadow to make them “it”. Then tell your friends how God is like our shadow because he is always with us!
