You can help others know God!
Matthew 5:16 In the same way, let your light shine so others can see it. Then they will see the good things you do. And they will bring glory to your Father who is in heaven.
Today we did something a little different to earn our last Bible Memory badge. It was nighttime and we were all given a bunch of glow sticks. Then we had to go on a hunt for our camp counsellor who was hiding somewhere in the camp. When we found him, we could recite our Memory verse and earn our badge. It was dark out so the light from the glow sticks would help us find our counsellor.
When we finally found the counsellor, we had to recite this verse from Matthew 5:16.
In the same way, let your light shine so others can see it. Then they will see the good things you do. And they will bring glory to your Father who is in heaven.
Our glow sticks lit up the night so we could find our counsellor. In the same way, when we live right and do good things, our light shines and lights up the way for people to find God. People need to see us being kind and forgiving. They need to see us being generous and unselfish. They need to see us stand up for the truth instead of just follow the crowd. When we do these things our light shines and people can find out who God really is. They can get to know him for themselves!
This week at camp has been so awesome. I think I will put my badges on my backpack when I go back to school!
