Colossians 1:13 He has saved us from the kingdom of darkness. He has brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves.

There was an exciting rescue at camp today! The camp has some canoes that we can use during free time. Two campers had taken a canoe out for a leisurely paddle up the shoreline, but it was a windy day today and the wind blew them out too far onto the lake!

​

Good thing one of the camp counsellors had been supervising on the beach and saw what happened. They fired up the motorboat and rescued the canoers. The motorboat towed the canoe in. The campers were saved!

​

Today’s Bible Memory Verse was about an exciting rescue as well! This rescue was one of epic proportions! It was the rescue of all of us from sin by the heroic actions of Jesus! Read Colossians 1:13.

He has saved us from the kingdom of darkness. He has brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves.

​

We were all living in the kingdom of darkness because of our sin. Jesus rescued us from that darkness by dying on the cross to take the punishment for our sin. We are now forgiven and made right with God. Jesus has saved us from darkness and brought us into his kingdom!

​

I’m so glad those canoers were saved from going out too far on the lake today. I am even more glad that Jesus saved me from darkness!
