Summer Road Trip!

Day 3

daily devotional for kids

1 Timothy 4:12 Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young. Set an example for the believers in what you say and in how you live.

Dear Journal,

Today we spent the whole day at a Fun Park! It was so much fun! We went on bumper cars and the Merry-Go-Round and laughed in the Funhouse at our silly reflections in the mirrors. One part wasn’t so much fun. We went on the Water Log Ride. I got scared on the ride and cried after. To cheer me up, Dad bought me a balloon.

Later on, we decided to give the ride another try. While waiting in line, I saw another girl get off that ride. She was crying too. She must have been scared like I had been. I decided to give her my balloon to cheer her up. It had helped me. I told her not to worry. The feeling of being scared would pass like it had for me. She stopped crying and smiled. She was happy for the balloon.

Dad said that was a very nice thing I had done. He read 1 Timothy 4:12 to me.

Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young. Set an example for the believers in what you say and in how you live.

He said that sometimes kids think that they can’t make a difference in the world because they are young. But he said that the Bible says otherwise. He said that I had made a big difference to that girl by being kind and encouraging her. I wonder what else I can do to make a difference?

We went back on the ride that had made me scared. This time we all had fun!
