Put up with one another in love

daily devotional for kids
read the Bible

Ephesians 4:2 Be patient. Put up with one another in love.

“Milo!” A.J. screamed in anger. Up went his hand above his head. He was getting ready to pummel Milo with his fist. After all, Milo had walked by him while he was playing with his cars and just hit him for no reason. Well, really, she did it because she wanted A.J. to play with her but didn’t know how to ask. He would be right to hit her back, wouldn’t he?

A good place to turn to in times like these is the Bible. What does the Bible say we should do when someone hurts us?

Ephesians 4:2 says “Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love.”

God tells us that we should remember that no one is perfect. That’s what it means to make “allowance for each other’s faults.” Even though A.J. is very mad at Milo right now, he does still love his sister. He can choose to be patient with her and ask her not to hit him again.

A.J. just might be surprised by the reaction he gets from his sister. She just might be patient with him too when he messes up!
