Matthew 5:16 In the same way, let your light shine so others can see it. Then they will see the good things you do. And they will bring glory to your Father who is in heaven.

Today after the campers told their Bible Memory Verse to the camp counsellor, they went on a nature hike where they could collect things like rocks, insects and leaves.

​

One of the other campers did not go to church. Her parents had just sent her to camp because they thought it would be fun for her. She was having fun and learning about God! She really liked to collect rocks. Her pail had filled up already and they were only half-way through the nature hike.

​

Milo offered her pail up so she could continue to collect rocks. Milo also liked to collect rocks, but she wanted to be kind to her new friend, so she sacrificed her pail for her friend.

The Bible tells us when we do good things it is like we are letting our light shine for others to see God.

​

In the same way, let your light shine so others can see it. Then they will see the good things you do. And they will bring glory to your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 5:16

​

Milo was letting her light shine so her new friend could see that God was also kind and loving. In this way she was helping her new friend know about God. It is important for us to always remember to let our lights shine too for God so others can get to know him.

​

Before camp was over, Milo’s new friend had asked Jesus into her heart!
