Ephesians 2:8,9 God’s grace has saved you because of your faith in Christ. Your salvation doesn’t come from anything you do. It is God’s gift. It is not based on anything you have done. No one can brag about earning it. 
 

Christmas was over. It wasn’t Milo’s birthday. It wasn’t even Valentine’s Day yet. Milo’s mom and dad gave Milo a gift. Milo had wanted a certain doll that would complete her set.

So, Milo’s mom and dad just decided to give it to her. It was a “just because we love you” gift. Milo had not done anything to earn the gift. She had not even done any chores.

Our Bible verse today is from Ephesians 2:8, 9. It says:

God’s grace has saved you because of your faith in Christ. Your salvation doesn’t come from anything you do. It is God’s gift. It is not based on anything you have done. No one can brag about earning it.

Just like Milo’s mom and dad gave her a gift, God has given us a gift. We learned last week that sin separates us from God. But Jesus died on the cross so we could be forgiven of sin. That forgiveness is called our salvation. It means we have been saved from sin’s bad effects. We can be close to God again.

Our Bible verse today tells us that salvation is God’s gift to us. We can’t earn it. We just need to put our faith in Jesus to receive it. Now that is a great gift!
